Sasquatch Search Event Details

BENNINGTON, VT—September 8, 2025—Families in Bennington are invited to take part in a fun, free, and furry outdoor adventure at Sasquatch Search on Saturday, October 11, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., at Willow Park in Bennington.

Hosted by Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC), a member of Dartmouth Health, and supported by the Stewart’s Shops Holiday Match Grant, Sasquatch Search encourages kids and families to get outside, get active, and explore the wild and whimsical world of a favorite folklore creature: Sasquatch – who also happens to be a surprisingly good teacher of healthy habits. This is the second year SVMC is hosting the event.

Guests will have the opportunity to walk woodland trails in search of Sasquatch clues and learn about the mysteries of Sasquatch, including what Sasquatch eats, where Sasquatch lives, and how Sasquatch stays clean and healthy. Attendees can enjoy Sasquatch-themed snacks from local favorites like Shire Cottage Bakery and Bennington Community Market, and enter a free raffle to win a limited-edition Sasquatch Search t-shirt!

“Sasquatch has healthy habits we can learn from, like eating fruits and veggies and doing lots of walking in nature,” said James Trimarchi, Director of Planning at SVMC. “Sasquatch sets a good example and gives us an excuse to have fun outdoors.”

In addition to the Sasquatch search, visitors can meet “friends of Sasquatch” including Bennington Bike Hub, Orvis, Lake Paran, Bennington Area Trail Systems, Children’s Integrative Services, Bennington WIC, SVMC Physical Therapy, and more.

Outdoor play is essential for kids’ well-being, and the approach of autumn is the perfect time for kids to discover the wonders of the outdoors. This family-friendly event will have something for everyone, so join in the fun!

SVMC is seeking community volunteers to help make the event a success. Volunteers are needed for setup, activities, and cleanup. If you’re interested in helping out, or for more information, please email vista.svhealthcare@gmail.com. This free, family-friendly event is open to all.
