Matthew Stanishewski, DO
Medical Staff President
Dr. Stanishewski earned his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010. After finishing residency at Lankenau Medical Center in southeastern Pennsylvania, he completed his fellowship in Rheumatology at Roger Williams Medical Center, Rhode Island Hospital, and the VA Medical Center in Providence. Dr. Stanishewski is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and a member of the New England Rheumatism Society.

Graham Moore, MD, FACS
Medical Staff Vice President
Dr. Moore joined Southwestern Vermont Medical Center’s General Surgery Department in 2008. He earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College in 2000 and completed his general surgery residency at George Washington University Hospital, Washington, D.C. in 2006. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

David Furman, MD
Chair, Department of Medicine
Dr. Furman is board-certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and specializes in the comprehensive treatment of the digestive system. Dr. Furman received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. He then served for 11 years as an officer and physician in the United States Navy. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in Virginia, where he also served as chief resident in Internal Medicine. He completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C. and the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, and went on to become an assistant professor of medicine at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda. Dr. Furman is a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, having proudly served there from 2012 – 2013. Prior to joining Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in 2021, Dr. Furman practiced in the Philadelphia area.

Andrew Caughey III, MD
Chair, Department of Anesthesia
Dr. Caughey earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan. He completed residencies in both internal medicine and anesthesiology at Michael Reese Hospital & Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Prior to joining SVMC, he served as Clinical Service Chief & Medical Director of Anesthesiology at Henry Ford Allegiance Health in Jackson, Michigan. Dr. Caughey is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Caughey earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan. Adam Cohen, MD
Chair, Department of Emergency Medicine
Dr. Cohen leads the Department of Emergency Medicine at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. He received his medical degree at the State University of New York Medical Center in Brooklyn, a graduate degree in physiology from Hahnemann University in Pennsylvania, and a bachelor’s in psychobiology from Binghampton University in New York. He completed his residency training in a combined Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine program at Allegheny General Hospital in Pennsylvania. He is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Dr. Sampson-Paine received her medical degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine in Grand Cayman, BWI, and a degree in biology from the University of Glamorgan in Wales, UK. She completed her residency in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical Centers in Chicago and taught as a Professor of Clinical Science at the Chicago Medical School and as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Science at St. Matthew’s University.

Trey Dobson, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Dobson is an emergency medicine physician with Dartmouth Health, an instructor of Emergency Medicine at Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine, and the chief medical officer for Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. He serves on the Medical Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees of Dartmouth-Hitchcock. He is the past president of the Vermont Medical Society and currently sits on the Governance Council. He performs medical practice peer review for the Vermont Program for Quality in Health Care, a nonprofit organization designated by the Vermont Legislature. He earned his medical degree at The University of Tennessee and completed residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Lozier completed her pediatric residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey. She received both her bachelor’s degree in Biology and medical degree at the University of the City of Manila, College of Medicine in the Philippines. In addition to her residency, she completed month-long observerships in the geriatric-psychiatric unit and in the pediatric emergency department at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts, and at Hasbro Children’s Hospital of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, respectively. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Rawle completed her residency in family medicine at the Stanford-O’Connor Hospital Residency Program in California. She attended medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York. In addition, she holds a Master’s in microbiology and immunology from Stanford School of Medicine in California and a Bachelor’s in microbiology from Brigham Young University in Utah. She taught science to high school students before attending medical school. Rawle has worked as a clinical instructor and primary care physician at Stanford University’s Stanford Primary Care in Santa Clara, California. She has a special interest in pediatric and adolescent medicine, and she is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
