Vice President of Support Services
Ron Zimmerman has been involved in health care support services for nearly 20 years. He started with Southwestern Vermont Health Care in 2020 as the Director of Engineering, then became the Administrative Director for Facilities, Engineering, and Security in 2023. In his current role with Southwestern Vermont Health Care, he conducts master facilities planning and implements long term solutions, leads daily operations for the support services and environment of care teams, serves as the organization’s energy champion, and executes capital projects across the healthcare system.
Before coming to Southwestern Vermont Health Care, he worked in multiple roles for Glens Falls Hospital in Glens Falls, New York; as the Operations Manager and Energy Leader for Hollingsworth & Vose in East Walpole, Massachusetts; and in multiple roles at several General Electric sites in Upstate New York. Ron holds a professional engineer’s (PE) license in the state of New York; he also holds certifications as a certified safety professional (CSP), certified healthcare safety professional (CHSP), and project management professional (PMP). He currently serves the Town of Moreau as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals, and past Chairman for their Planning Board. He received an Associate’s Degree (AAS) in Engineering Science from SUNY Adirondack in 1991, a Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Clarkson University in 1993, and a Master’s Degree (MALS) in Leadership and Administration from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2001.
