Your recovery journey is unique but, SVMC can help you take the 'First Steps'
For those with an advanced Alcohol-Use Disorder (AUD), transitioning to an alcohol-free life starts with detoxification, or detox.
The First Steps program is an alcohol detox treatment model designed to provide a safe and medically supervised detox. Patients receiving care through The First Steps program are carefully monitored by our physicians and nurses to make sure that patients are as comfortable as possible throughout the process.
The alcohol detox phase involves symptoms that range from mild to intense and, in some cases, life-threatening. “Going it alone” can be dangerous but having the support of medical professionals manages discomfort and ensures you detox safely and successfully.
This program is made possible through a collaboration with Turning Point Center, Bennington, which provides peer support during- and post-detox.
