Dealing with the everyday effects of poor breathing is challenging. Pulmonary rehabilitation is a proven outpatient program for people living with chronic lung diseases, including:

  • Asthma
  • Bronchitis
  • COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
  • Emphysema
  • Interstitial lung disease
  • Lung cancer
  • Pulmonary fibrosis

We work closely with the Pulmonology and Pulmonary Function Laboratory teams to provide you with comprehensive, coordinated care.

Pulmonary rehabilitation will give you the tools and knowledge needed to better manage your condition and live life more fully.

The pulmonary rehabilitation process

Our Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program offers individualized and progressive treatment designed to optimize lung function and get you leading the life you want.

Your program begins with a comprehensive evaluation by the Pulmonary Rehabilitation team. This physician-led team will develop a personalized education and exercise program that fits your tolerance and physical abilities.

Spanning eight weeks, your program will be a combination of education and exercise. Workouts are always conducted under the watchful and compassionate eye of a team of physical and respiratory therapists. The goal is to reduce any shortness of breath, improve oxygen levels, increase energy and endurance, decrease extremity pain, manage your weight, and help you maintain long-term independence.
